RUSTIC-LOVELY COOKIE JAR

This is stunning. Wabi Sabi and everything else. The lid has a mended crack, but barely visible.

THE GOLDEN BOOK OF . . .

The whole set of Golden Book Encyclopedia. Great for kids, classrooms, cut-outs and collages. Let's face it, most information doesn't become obsolete so fast. And illustrations are eternal.

POLAROID CAMERAS!!

A stupendous cache of old cameras has come in. Here are just three of them, a trio of vintage Polaroid Land Cameras circa 1970 - 1985.

THREE CHAIRS -- ONE HOUR AGO!!

Three sturdy windsors, right there, waiting for you. This photo was taken today at 11:00 a.m.

FANCY DARTBOARD

A coat of arms? What could be fancier and more crazy than this secret cabinet for a dartboard. Open it up and there are two skinny chalkboards for keeping score.

HOMEMADE BACK PACK

A very cool wooden support for a backpack came into the Gift House yesterday, It was made sixty or seventy years ago by the smiling gentleman, above, who brought it in. "I was a scout when I made it," he said, "and I used it for years." A group of us oohed and ahhhed. How can you part with that? we asked. "Don't' use it anymore," he said, "and my son made his own a long time ago."

SOUNDS OF A SUMMER NIGHT . . .

This device helps you sleep, apparently. The sounds it makes are kind of fascinating, Is this what people want to hear most?
Summer Night
Ocean Waves
White Noise
Mountain Stream
Spring Rain
Heartbeat

BOWL OF BELT LOOPS

Fantastic find!  A bowl of belt loops -- 200 hundred or so. All they need are the ties, ropes or ribbons.

Small World

If only there was a magic portal in the Gift House and all the dumps in the world were connected. What fun we'd have! Meanwhile, somebody come down and snatch this globe.

THE ENDANGERED GAME OF BRIDGE

Bridge shouldn't be allowed to die, like Cribbage and Mah Jong.

WORLD MARKET PLATES

Don't wait for summer to get in the mood.

Rain, Sleet, and Piles of Snow

The weather in the last few weeks has been exciting --- unlike everybody else on the Cape, I won't complain -- and the GH hasn't been open as much as we'd like.  Yesterday, though, we were WIDE OPEN and had a stream of visitors, browsers, and hanging-arounders. Great Fun!
