Every sport I can think of -- except dressage -- seems represented on this strange, very huge, cookie jar. The beast is a bear. But why? No idea. Here is a side view:

Countertop Oven Roaster!
Not sure how this works, to tell you the truth. The woman who brought it in (today) says that she only used it once, but already has an oven and a slow cooker, so this device wasn't needed. It's big enough for a pretty large turkey!
CLAM SHUCKER
These devices are usually homemade, and turn up pretty often at the Gift House. They are used for opening quahogs, cherrystones, steamers -- any heavy-shelled clam. If you're making a pot of chowder, you know what a pain it is to pry open all those babies.

MASTERWORKS IN PAPIER MACHE
I never realized the depth and range of strange objects that could be made with paper and starch water.
This book is full of them. Take a quick look below:

Basket for the wall or door
I'm intrigued by the New England tradition of the wall or door basket. This one is a very nice color.

K'NEX ROLLER COASTER
A construction set for a moving roller coaster that's 8 feet long, 3 feet high, and has 2400 pieces. It is recommended for kids 11 and older who have parents that are very patient, very methodical and not given to temper tantrums.
1970s WORRY BOOKS
If you think your world is crazy now, and loaded with worries and unknowns -- inside and out -- you should take a trip to the 1970s by visiting a few of that decade's classic books.

Nordic Work Out
In the exercise world, why is everything "Nordic?" This isn't a Nordic track, or a bike. It doesn't do much for the legs. Using it requires a hunched, bent over motion that kills the abs. So why not call it, Ab Killer or Ab Cruncher? I think its a 1990s thing. If you put "nordic" on a piece of exercise equipment, using it will transform you into a person who is six feet tall and blonde.

DEAD FLOWER CRAFTING
Better than silk or plastic. You can make your own dried flower arrangments -- or press them, the way Emily Dickinson did in a journal -- with this stash of crafting equipment left at the Gift House

VINTAGE COOK BOOKS
A Rumford Complete Cook Book and three copies of Fannie Farmer's Boston Cooking-School Cook Book, first published in 1896
Vintage Egg Separator!!
This has been identified as a egg yolk separator, circa 1950. I'm not sure why separating an egg requires this special tool . . . but why complain?

SITTING ON A SHELF
Not sure what the point is. But these two retirees just sit on a shelf, day and night, and don't seem to talk to each other anymore.

Club Chair
To be perfectly honest, I forgot to touch this chair -- to check whether it is real leather or some kind of animal-cruelty-free "pleather." Why don't you come down to the Gift House and have a feel? There is a half-moon ottoman that matches.
RESCUE HEROES: CONTROL TOWER
Super hero builders, and other dolls with big muscles, climb on this control tower that talks to them.
Rival Crock Pot
Nice crockpot for winter roasts and other hearty fare! We get lots of bread machines, crockpots, and ice cream machines in the Gift House. People probably get tired of looking at them on the counter.
Scanners, Printers, Copiers . . .
A slew of scanners, printers and copiers at the Gift House. They are in good working condition, according to the folks who dropped them off.
